Director, Mental Conditioning
Vincent A. Lodato, EdD, LCSW, CC-AASP is a clinician and Certified Mental Performance Consultant with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology who holds a Doctorate of Education in Sport and Performance Psychology from University of Western States, a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University and a Certificate in Sport and Fitness Psychology from California State University-Dominguez Hills. Dr. Lodato is an adjunct professor of sport and performance psychology with University of Western States and the University of South Florida's Exercise Science Program.
In addition, he has completed post graduate work and professional mentorship in Applied Sport Psychology. He is a licensed therapist who has worked as a consultant to three Major League Baseball organizations providing services on both the Major and Minor league levels for the past 24 years. He is the Director of Mental Wellness and Player Performance. Additionally, Dr. Lodato consults on the collegiate and high school level.
He has been accepted as a member of The Big Sky Clinical Sport Psychology group. As part of the mental and vision performance lab at The National Sports Performance Institute he combines mental skills training and cognitive training to enhance mental endurance, focus and concentration, management of stress and pressure, decision making.
He has designed and implemented a developmental model of education, support, and intervention for minor league baseball players as part of an overall player development system. He has worked with Athletic Trainers to develop rehabilitation protocols and counseling for injury recovery. He has worked with club, varsity high school, and college level teams and individual athletes from a variety of sports as part of his private practice. He is certified in Hypnosis, as well as EMDR (Eye Movement De-sensitization and Re-processing) performance enhancement protocols and procedures. He has trained coaches on positive coaching techniques and team cohesion. He is a professional member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and is involved with their Youth Sports Special Interest Group.
He has been in private clinical practice for over 20 years. Working in professional sports and in private practice, he has been active with youth athletes, coaches, and parents to enhance both their performance and enjoyment of sport.
Dr. Lodato obtained his Doctorate of Education in Sport and Performance Psychology from University of Western States, his Master's of Clinical Social work from Florida State University and Bachelor's of Arts in criminal justice from the University of South Florida. He is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
Dr. Lodato is a professional member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and an attendee with the Big Sky Clinical Sport Psychology Group. Additionally, Dr. Lodato is a participant with the Leroy Selmon Mentoring Institute at the University of South Florida.
Dr. Lodato is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. He is certified in NLP-Ericksonian Hypnosis and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing).
