Dr. Vincent Lodato, EdD, LCSW, CMPC-AASP is a Tampa-based clinician, licensed therapist, and Certified Consultant with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. He works with professional athletes and serves as the Director of Mental Conditioning for the National Sports Performance Institute. De. Lodato holds a Doctorate of Education in Sport and Performance Psychology, a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University and a Certificate in Sport and Fitness Psychology from California State University-Dominguez Hills. In addition he has completed post graduate work and professional mentorship in sport psychology. For over 21 years has worked as a consultant to three Major League Baseball organizations providing services on both the Major and Minor league levels. Dr. Lodato has been active with youth athletes, coaches, and parents to enhance both their performance and enjoyment of sport on the club, high school, and college levels.
Dr. Lodato's accomplishments have included the design and implementation of a developmental model of education, support, and intervention for minor league baseball players as part of an overall player development system. He has assisted pro sports athletic trainers develop rehabilitation protocols and counseling for injury recovery. He provides assessments and recommendations for scouting of amatuer baseball players entering the draft. In addition to his professional sports activities, he also works with club, high school, and college, and individual athletes from a variety of sports as part of his private practice.
Dr. Lodato is an approved mentor with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology's Certified Mental Performance Consultant certification program and listed in the USOC-Sport Psychology Registry.
